Welcome to my blog!

I've been commenting on blogs and forums for years, and it's something I've always enjoyed. It never ceases to amaze me when people tell me that they read and enjoy my comments - I appreciate that so much. I've been toying with the idea of starting my own blog for a while, and there was really no reason not to - I always have so much to say :-) and it feels really good to put it out there - especially since there's the chance that other people (like you!) will read it.

I also really enjoy discussions and feedback, which is why I enabled comments on this blog. I have changed the settings so that comments are moderated here, at least for now, because I don't want inappropriate content. I guess that means at some point I will have to define exactly what I mean by inappropriate, but I think most people who are not lawyers will be able to figure it out for themselves :-).

I will get to setting up a bio and profile shortly. For now, I just wanted to get a "first post" up.

Once again, thanks for visiting!

  1. I hope I am the first comment!

What say you to lunch? And Kosher Delight will do just fine, thank you. :-)

  2. sooooo...
Is this a sub-CR, exclusively squeakish?

  3. No. It is independent from the CR. Don't forget that.

It doesn't have to be exclusively squeakish either. On that note, I have turned off moderation for comments, so that you don't have to wait for me to check my inbox. I will make sure that abuse is not tolerated.

Anyone volunteering to be a mod? JK. I don't even think that's possible on blogspot.

  4. Looks like you found yourself a new addiction joey. Guess it can't be any worse than the last one.

  5. squeak: It is possible on Blogger, but I am not volunteering to mod. :-)

Prince: I'm sure you will be happier with this one.

  7. You calling me Joey's alter ego? I resent that.

The CR folks are welcome here, but this is not an exclusive forum. The reason I put up a bio post is because I want to welcome all comers.

  8. Squeak, anonymous better have been referring to you and not me...

And is there a way to put in any name of our choice as opposed to choosing anonymous?

  9. I'm staying anonymous until I can come up with a cool enough name to fit my uber-cool self.
I'm waiting patiently for an epiphany.

  10. Below the comment box there is a drop down box "Comment as" which lets you choose a number of ways to post a comment, including typing in a real or fake name.

  13. We should all come up with new names.. although it shouldn't be too hard to figure out who's who..

    :)

  14. Once I choose my name, will others be able to impersonate me, or is will that screen name be exculsively mine?

  15. hey- just 1 second here.
I'm the original Anonymous, and I'm also the Anonymous that used to sign off in the posts here...
To clear things up- squeak IS NOT Joe's alter ego- no way Jose.
I was referring to the self anointed Prince himself ;)

  16. It depends how you choose your name. If you just select "Name/URL" then anyone can use the same as you just by typing the same thing. If you want a unique ID then you have to be logged in to something (AIM, OpenID, Google, whatever)

  17. Well.. I suppose it's possible that Prince is Joey's alter ego on this blog, because for all we know the true prince has not chosen to comment here. And to take that one step further, Joey may be the only one actually commenting other than squeak, under multiple names..

Oh, and anonymous - I stole your name - muuaaahahahahah - try and stop me!

  18. I would suggest that all commenters choose something other than "Anonymous", as Anonymous will be the same and as such confused with everyone else who posts as Anonymous. (If you still choose Anonymous despite this advice, at least sign the bottom of your comment with some name or nickname.)

If you have a Gmail/Google Account, you can choose "Google Account" and login before making a comment. This will automatically put a title to your comment. (You can go to www.Blogger.com to choose what to display, by selecting "Edit Profile" over there.)

Otherwise choose "Name/URL" and choose any name you wish to post your comment under. Although using this method you will need to enter your selected name again every time you comment here.
